Asbestos Victims Association (SA) Inc
Support, advocacy and reform for victims of asbestos disease and their families
The Asbestos Victims Association of South Australia has been around since 2000 and has hundreds of members across the state.
We focus on victim support, advocacy for victims and their families and legislative reform to provide a better deal for victims. We have had some great wins recently – including the Xenophon legislation to streamline and increase compensation payments to South Australians and of course the successful campaign to get James Hardie to adequately compensate its victims. The AVA also works hard to promote community awareness of asbestos, working with SafeWork SA and unions to educate our community.
